Ever considered starting a newsletter?
So did I. But WHY?? Let's Write Like Nobody's Watching.
HEY!! Welcome Home. We’re FINALLY here.
But…
Why am I starting a Newsletter?
FOMO? AGAIN?
Starting my own newsletter has been on my to-do list for ages.
But I’ve often asked myself: WHY am I doing this?
Am I just chasing the latest trend like everyone else? Ain’t everyone chasing short form videos?
Well we’ll get into the technicalities sometime later. (Let’s keep it simple this time)
But this one question above single-handedly made it something that took me almost a year to get started.
I never had a compelling reason to make this a goal I’d pursue with dedication.
Until it hit me⛈️
Writing has always been my refuge—through my teenage years and during my most challenging times.
At heart, I’m a writer, and, I never wrote for money.
But in my quest to “build YOUR personal brand and be a “ghostwriter,” I lost track.
Track of when writing stopped being a passion and became just another task.
But Kritika, aren’t you a writer?
Absolutely. (The most romantic and wildest one you can think off😈)
I write every day, and most of my days are all about brainstorming and creating.
But at the same time...
I don’t know when I STOPPED writing.
Writing for sheer joy.
I don’t know when writing became all about metrics and validation (I recall evaluating my writing based on article performance).
Do I miss writing?
HELL YES! Every single day.
I miss the pure joy of writing, the joy that felt like a warm, comforting cup of tea.🫂
Writing that eases all your worries and sorrows.
And as I look back, I think…
I NOW finally understand the WHY...
The WHY to rediscover the lost writer within...
The writer who got buried under figures and social validation.
Here’s to that lost self—a version that immersed itself in logic and practicality, forgetting to live for its own sake.
An UNfiltered self - that we all lost amidst the cruel realities😔
What Would This Be About?
Since school, I’ve always been an observer (not the kind who counts stairs) but someone who lives in their unique world.
And though I’m not sure if it helped me as a writer, it made me good at ONE thing...
The art of asking the RIGHT questions.
Taking everything to the core
And Questioning the WHY.
Questions that would even make teachers ponder.
Trust me, being INSANELY curious isn’t bad because it gives you a lens...
A lens through which you see perspectives NOBODY else does.
And these are exactly the perspectives we explore here...
UNfiltered, UNexplored, and UNdiminished.
Every Thursday, delivered with a warm hug and comforting coffee.
Until then,
Stay curious. Stay WILD.
Signing off,
Kritika
PS. I have a knack for sending valuable and meaningful emails to SPAM (a talent that seems exclusive to me🫣🙃)
I once confessed my feelings to my crush and waited forever for a reply, only to find out it landed in SPAM. (I learned this after confronting him when he got into a relationship with someone else 😭🥲)
NO CAP [ss attached below 🍿]
But Why am I telling you this?
So that your Inbox knows we’re best friends.
Just in case I randomly decide to write you a love letter😏😏)
Go hit that frustration on your keyboard and reply to this email.
I wouldn’t mind a few words of appreciation though…🤌🏼
And if you’re that one friend whom I compelled to read🫣🤫
